M is away this week and it's the first time LP really notices (you should have seen the tears when he started packing), but also the first time I really feel we're spending actual mother and son solo quality time together. You know, doing stuff. Hanging out. Having fun. Don't tell daddy we ate out twice on Sunday!
Yesterday as we were riding in the car we passed by a big truck from this industrial bakery, the kind that makes over-processed, no-nutrients sliced white bread I don't buy. Lately LP has been really into guessing what's inside of trucks, and this one was too easy, with really bright, colorful, and appealing images on it.
"Regarde maman, le camion, il transporte des sandwiches!" (Look mommy, the truck is carrying sandwiches!) he said triumphantly...
Wouldn't that be neat, a truck full of appetizing, thick, stuffed, fresh triangle-shaped sandwiches you could just directly grab and bite into?... Thank you so much, mon loup, for letting me see the world through your eyes.

I wish that were true!

I love kids at his age. The way they see the world is so endearing =)
Although it is a little heartbreaking that he's also old enough to realize when his dad is gone. I hope you guys are all back together soon!
Another LP story! I eat them up!
What a cool game. I never thought of that one. (Although my nannying days didn't generally involve car rides... all that is ahead of me!)
