Makeup heaven

I received my Maybelline New York Eye Studio makeup kit last week, and it was like Christmas in April. The box contained a rigid, multi-compartment case like professional makeup artists have, and just when I saw it I was already thinking: ooh, nice to have one of these... But wait! I opened it to see that they had sent me the ENTIRE collection: 4 gel eyeliners with brushes, 4 mascaras, 9 marbleized dual eye shadow cases, and 12 eye shadow palettes! Can you tell from the pictures that I was squealing with glee?


Anyway, I was amazed. The retail value of the products alone, not including the case, is over $300. Wow! The colors are great, and really varied; unfortunately three little eye shadow cases were damaged in shipping, so there was a little bit of metallic powder everywhere, but it's certainly still usable. This is not makeup for the demure: it's clearly aimed at creating very dramatic evening looks. But it's beautiful and I find it so exciting!

Don't worry, I won't be greedy, and I will share my luck. I plan to do a little giveaway in the near future, because really that's way too much for one person to use. So stay tuned! But before, I have to post a look I have created with the products; god help me. Then, I will have to post it on Facebook with all the other bloggers who participated to this event, and people will be able to vote for their favorite look. The winner will go to NYC on a little pampering trip; for sure I don't expect to win, come on, I don't have much of a competitive streak, it's not why I'm doing this, and I'm sure there are plenty of stunning 19 year-olds sirens who live for this kind of thing and are ready to work REALLY HARD at it, PR-wise... But when I do, will you still vote for me so at least I don't look like I'm the old-chick-who-has-no-friends? I knew I could count on you.
