Not an April Fool's Day prank

My mom is arriving tonight, and tomorrow at the crack of dawn we are heading south to NYC... Despite having done her fair share of traveling, she has never been, and we've been planning on taking her there for a looong time. Like, years. Her excitement is fantastic.

It will be fun to explore the city, all four of us. LP has already told her he would show her "everything," which she thought was quite funny (I suspect his definition of everything mainly includes taxicabs and toy stores). We will attend the Easter parade, of course. We went two years ago and loved it, although LP who was only one slept in his stroller through the whole thing. He'll certainly be more interested this year, and has a hat just for the occasion.

My mom additionally wants to go to Macy's (I have a feeling I'll have to stop her from buying everything from the Martha Collection) and Saks. We'll go to FAO Schwartz, and probably pay a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. If possible, we may even try to go to the Statue of Liberty -I've never been, and the boat ride and view could be fun. The weekend will probably be a little more touristy than usual, but she wants to see it all, and of course we'll oblige! It greatly helps that the weather forecast is wonderful, sunny and summer-like warm... I can't wait!

Happy Easter and have a great long weekend everyone! See you back on Tuesday.

Yay! Hooray NYC! And the weather is meant to be perfect, so enjoy!

I've decided to do a post on passover just for you, even though I know you looked it up and know a lot more now. Still, it is one of my favorite holidays ever, so explanations will be forthcoming!

(P.S. the high chair belongs to my parents, and they used it for all four of us. It's forty years old! And when his first grandchild was born, my dad brought it out from the basement and refinished it and it is wonderful! No plastic anywhere. They just don't make them like they used to....)

I know, the weather is supposed to be so great, we might wander into Brooklyn for a visit to the Botanical Garden... Although it's still to early for blossoms. I also just learned that it will the big Annual Flower Show at Macy's, so I'm nearly dying now! We went two years ago and seriously it remains one of the greatest experiences of my life. Being totally surrounded by thousands of beautiful, fragrant flower arrangements, all creative and whimsical = heaven.

Thanks so much for the post! I didn't dare asking you to do this... :-) Will read it with vivid interest.

And now I love the high chair even more.
