Instead of doing this in still-mild November like everyone else, I suddenly realized on January 3rd that my (warm, stylish and overall great) woolen winter coat needed to be be dry-cleaned. So I took it there, and the lady informed me that since it had two thin leather bands on it, it required a different procedure and would take just a little longer than usual, maybe a week, tops? Oh, OK, I somewhat relunctantly agreed. I mean it wasn't great, because I only have a clearly-not-warm-enough, too-open-at-the-neck "fall" coat to wear in the meantime (one made for European winters -which, except for Scandinavia, is kind of an oxymoron, sorry), but it would have to do.
Of course, the day after that it became craaaaazy cold, and has been pretty much every since.
And of course, it's still not ready so I still haven't gotten it back.
Smart thinking. Hey, it's just what I do!

Ugh! I hate when things like that take longer than they should. I hope you get it back soon! Though when you do, it will probably be nice out.
Maybe this is an excuse to buy a new coat! I have no fewer than 6 winter coats. 3 are old and I don't wear them, but 3 are on regular rotation, depending on the occasion on the the extremity of the temperature. Winter is brutal and long, it is totally justified.
I was thinking of washing my coat the other day, but decided it was just going to have to wait. Hope you get yours back soon!
